What is Yoga?
Yoga
is a 5,000 year old art and science, originally started in India, which
helps to connect
mind, body, and spirit. Yoga has the
potential to enhance every part of your being and help you to create a
healthy,
youthful body and calm mind.
Many
people think that yoga is stretching. But while stretching is certainly
involved, yoga is really about creating balance in the body through
developing
both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of
poses or
postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can
be done
quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement or
more
slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose.
Through
the Yoga Class at Mundo Bello Movement, you will learn correct
alignment and
breathing in basic yoga postures (standing and sitting) while
developing
strength & flexibility and learning to relax the body and
mind. You will receive instruction in fundamental
yoga principles and breathing technique, while progressing towards
basic
Vinyasa (flowing) yoga.
